Overview
The Three Passes trek is the ultimate Everest experience. This route includes all of the highlights of the Everest region, both in terms of mountain scenery and local Sherpa culture, into an one excursion. Keep in mind that this is one of Nepal’s most difficult teahouse hikes.
It begins in the Dhote Kosi valley and travels west to the Renjo La pass before entering the Gokyo valley. You’ll have time to visit the green lakes that give Gokyo its name while you’re here. The trail then enters the Dudh Kosi valley through the Cho La pass. It then ascends to Everest base camp. Finally, it descends to the Imja Khola valley, passing through the Kongma La pass. You’ll summit three outstanding peaks along the way: Gokyo Ri, Kala Patar, and Chukhung Ri.
This is one for the true trekker.
