Overview
This section of Nepal, which is close to the Langtang valley, receives very few tourists. The Tamang Heritage Trail is a must-do trip for trekkers interested in learning about Nepal’s native culture. This provides you the opportunity to have genuine contacts with the Tamang’s friendly and ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture. This trek runs through Tamang villages and offers panoramic views of the Langtang and Ganesh mountain ranges.
The excursion begins with a day trip to Syebrubesi in a private automobile. This settlement has developed into a commercial center and serves as a departure point for hikes into the Langtang Valley and the Gosainkunda Lakes. Following the April 2015 earthquake, the path to Syabrubesi has become the major route to the Tibetan border for travel and trade. The first day of hiking will take you 2 hours to reach Gholjong. You will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Ganesh mountain range after completing the hike. Gatlang is a short hike from Gholjong. You’ll descend to the Trisuli river the next day, passing by mani walls and chortens.
