Ghandruk Trek

Overview

Ghandruk Trek is a Gurung tribal cultural heritage village trek and still keeping the safe linguistic and speaks the Gurung language in its dialect which is known as Gorkha Ex British army village. Ghandruk village is one of the most beautiful villages in the Annapurna area.

Ghandruk village is one of the most developed villages in the Kaski district, the Annapurna Rural Municipality, and between Lumle and Chhomrong Villages, and the closest trek from Pokhara. The Gurungs of Ghandruk villages practice their own cultural identity and traditions based on Pye-Tan Lhu-Tan as well as Hinduism, who worship natureTotal deity. The Ghandruk village Gurungs have been practicing the ancient Bon religion (pre-Buddhist religion of Tibet), which is shamanic and animistic in nature, but later adopted Tibetan Buddhism. Itinerary

You will be received at Kathmandu airport by our representative holding your name plate. After formal meeting, you will drive to the Hotel. There is an option of familiarization walk in the evening that ends with an attractive dinner.

After breakfast we will leave from valley and drive north towards mountains. Vantage points on this section of highway offers picturesque view of Himalayan peaks atop verdant hills drained by cascading white water. Pokhara appears as amphitheater of mountains with lofty snow peaks towards north. Later we will explore Phewa Lake, the biggest of three lakes in pokhara. Stay a night at Pokhara.

After breakfast, drive from Pokhara to Phedi. It takes about 45 minutes. Start trek from Phedi climbing up with stone staircases through the Rhododendron forest until reaching lower Dhampus. Then, you will gently climb up again passing the terraced fields and small houses. We again keep climbing up through the rhododendron forest until reaching the ridge. Take lunch at Dhampus. After lunch, you will start gently climb up through the rhododendron and oak forests until reaching Pothana. From Pothana, it is around 1-hour trekking with stone staircases to reach Australian Camp. Staying a night at Australian Base Camp.

Situated on the mountain's flank, in the middle of terraced rice fields that sculpt the landscape, the little village of Landruk has spectacular views over the countryside that forms part of the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. As you round the corner, you're met by a view of immense snowy peaks. Staying a night at Landruk.

Ghandruk offers the majestic view of Annapurna mountain and a splendid sunrise and sunset. The Ghandruk trek is most popular for wonderful Gurung culture, the beautiful village, geographical differences and the fantastic views of the mountains of Annapurna (7219 m), Machhapuchhare (6993 m) and Himchuli (6411 m). Returning back to pokhara, having rest and visiting some attractive places (if possible). Staying a night at hotel.

Returning back to kathmandu, you can visit historical places as well as a few places of natural sceneries. Staying a night at hotel.

Day 8 :
Departure

Finally, Ghandruk trek is now over. You can now scroll through some of the wonderful moments that you collected on this journey and depart.
