Overview
The Hindu community visits Dakshinkali Temple, which is located 23 kilometers outside of Kathmandu Valley. Mahakali is described as an incarnation of Annapurna in Hindu Vedas, Shiva Puran, and Puranas. Annapurna is a manifestation of Goddess Parvati, with Anna meaning “food” and Purna meaning “fulfillment.” It is thought that the Goddess Annapurna satisfies the human demand for sustenance.
