Overview
Chisapani Nagarkot Trek is a 3-day tea house trek around Kathmandu that can be extended for another 1-2 days to Dhulikhel and Namo Buddha. This itinerary is designed for short-term visitors to Nepal who want to get a taste of the country. After traveling 45 minutes from Kathmandu, the Chisapani Nagarkot Trek begins in Sundarijal. The trail begins in Shivapuri National Park, traversing across a large watershed that supplies 40% of Kathmandu Valley’s drinking water. Chisapani Nagarkot Trek offers breathtaking Himalayan scenery, including Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Gaurishankar Himal, and even Mount Everest in the distance.
After walking roughly 4-5 hours to Sundarijal, your first destination is Chisapani. The temperature in Chisapani is always chilly, since its name means “cold water” in Nepali, and you will enjoy the true beauty of nature while being away from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Your interactions with the locals will add to the experience. A pleasant journey to Lapsi Phedi from Chisapani involves walking through the jungle and listening to bird chirpings.
